Drop Off details
The ‘Drop Off’ is less crowded than the ‘USAT Liberty’ wreck and is often used as an alternative during high season in Bali. It features a series of lava flows and reefs rich with giant gorgonian sea fans which descend down to over 70 meters; great macro such as porcelain crabs and frog fish can be found hidden away in the crevices and divers should also keep an eye out in the blue for the stray sunfish or dog tooth tuna.
Drop Off Recommendations
If staying in Tulamben, do the wreck first thing in the morning as most day trips don’t arrive until 11am; then while the wreck is crowded you are free to enjoy a relatively peaceful dive on the ‘Drop Off’.
If ever there is current on the wreck, the ‘Drop Off’ can usually offer a more sheltered alternative.
