Internship in Bali – Life Records by Rik

Hello everyone,

My name is Rik, a Dutch student doing an internship at Blue Season Bali.

The upcoming weeks, for 5 months, I will share experiences of my life in Bali and as an intern manager at Blue Season Bali.

Without any prior experience in diving or management, I started my exploration about the underwater world. During the first week I was very amazed about all the things I didn’t know. As a 20-year-old, all the impressions you make traveling to a new country, a new company and a new world can be quite overwhelming.

For me this was the case, I had a difficult time to realize that I was going to live here and work with these people for 5 months. Being used to cold winters, this will be the hottest one I’ve ever experienced. This isn’t some sort of vacation, I am here to learn about diving, management and the company, but also life.

Still getting used to the fact that this will be my life for the next half of the year, I am glad to say that all the staff is very friendly, helpful and good in easing a student like me into the culture.

Luckily where I stay there are fellow ‘Dutchies’, that also helped me into the ‘Bali-life’.

Currently feeling adjusted to this life, I can gladly say that I’m very excited about the upcoming weeks here at Blue Season Bali. I will develop myself and learn, but most important, is to enjoy.
